Grassy Hills Maternity Family Session in Orange County

Welcome to golden, grassy hillside fields in Orange County, Southern California. Nothing better than getting to shoot locally in my old college town of Irvine. It was so refreshing to capture change, growth, and love in a very simple, natural, and pure setting. Jorge & Sarah are good friends of mine and fellow photographers! In 2018, we met and I distinctly remember they asked if I could be on call for photographing the delivery of their first-born, Goldie. I was so honored. Unfortunately, I was on a flight to Madrid that year on the exact day Goldie was born and managed to take photos in the hospital anyway. Looking back at these photos, she has grown up so fast and is about to be a big sister.

I was thrilled when the Macias family asked me to photograph a maternity / family session and we decided to meet halfway in-between our homes in Orange County. They love golden, grassy California hills and we were able to have perfect weather in February and glowy light. We also managed to photograph some photos on my film camera on Portra 400 on my Canon AE-1. They were so easy to work with. My favorite family sessions are when families just let kids be: laughing, hugging, jumping. No need to tell anyone to look at the camera or smile or point. These memories will live forever: in journals, on walls, in albums and I hope to make many more memories for mothers and fathers in the near future. Young or old, anyone can benefit from documenting their family as they are in present day. Life is short, things are always changing, and life throws curveballs. If you live in San Diego, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Santa Ana, or Los Angeles, book a session and freeze a tiny moment in time.

Intimate Botanical Garden Wedding

I adore intimate weddings and ceremonies because couples can really engage with their guests one-on-one and it makes the day feel more free-flowing and less tied to a rigid schedule.

Rio opted to get ready in the Grand Pacific Palisades in Carlsbad, California and put on her incredible Belize Dress by BHLDN. This location is super close to the famous Carlsbad Flower Fields and Legoland making it a great place to have a big family reunion where guests can enjoy various attractions and of course, the beach.

I’m a big fan of Encinitas and I was so excited when Rio & Austin decided to celebrate their union at the San Diego Botanic Gardens. The ceremony was made up of their closest family and friends and it was a pleasure to get to know everyone individually and make sure we captured lots of photos around the garden. We were able to do a ton of family photos and everyone enjoyed an intimate dinner afterwards.

Hollywood Sunset Tower Hotel Elopement

Clients turned close friends Yanin & Oli live in the UK, but make time to visit Los Angeles every year to spend time with friends and visiting their favorite restaurants and shops. They planned to celebrate their wedding in Los Angeles in the year-that-must-not-be-named, but plans changed and they eloped in a courthouse in their hometown instead. We still celebrated them and I got to photograph their intimate dinner in Hollywood.

They got ready to see each other in their fancy wedding attire at Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood. I love when brides and grooms opt to get ready in the same space because they get to spend more time together, laugh, and make room for memorable and intimate moments that otherwise would not be shared if staying somewhere separately. After shooting some portraits, we headed to an industrial space where their friends waited for them to celebrate an intimate Moroccan dinner in a chic, moody setting scented by Jo Malone candles.
